Key Individuals at Kalamandapam
Subhash Vinjamuri is a highly accomplished violinist teaches music and choreographs music for the ballets the school performs. His first inspiration was from his father, Sri Vinjamuri Parthasarathy Iyengar, and then he went on to be the disciple of Sri Brahmanandam Naidu, a direct disciple of Sri Dwaram Venkataswami Naidu. His talent was evident from childhood when at the age of 10 he won the Indo-Russian competitions for violin. He is very well known for his melody and has accompanied internationally recognized musicians in India and the US. Nalini Ram Iyengar writes lyrics for the ballets. She has a master's degree in Archeology but pursued her passion and talent in literature. She is trained as a dancer as well, and has performed with Mrinalini Sadananda in India. She took on the lyrics of Sarvam Vishnu Mayam as her first ballet and since has gone on to write many other plays. Aniket Sidhaye is the President of Kalamandapam. He has been an MC for many of the performances and has taken on this new role of overseeing the organization, execution and policy making of Kalamandapam. He is an Endocrinologist at Johns Hopkins University. Keerthana Sidhaye is the current Director of Kalamandapam. Her education in dance was initiated by her mother, Mrinalini Sadananda and then she was sent to learn from Vempati Chinna Satyam in Madras, India for several years. After she mastered the fundamentals, Mrinalini Sadananda continued to train and foster the subtleties of dance as well as encourage creativity to allow for new compositions. She has played key roles in many of the dance ballets by Kalamandapam. Keerthana is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at Johns Hopkins University. Kavitha Chedalla is the treasurer of Kalamandapam and has been trained by Mrinalini Sadananda and has played lead roles in many of the dance dramas. From childhood she had a burning desire to learn this fine art, and finally had the opportunity when she brought her children to join Kalamandapam. With her sincerity and hard work, she very quickly graduated to becoming a dance instructor in Kalamandapam. |
